Teffany is the only person who handles address verification at VIVA Raw
VIVA Raw sells raw, perishable pet food through Shopify. Every order ships on a tight timeline. A wrong address does not just mean a delayed package. It means spoiled product that cannot be reshipped, a carrier claim to file manually, and a pet parent left without their order.
Before Address Guard, the team relied on USPS validation. It was not catching enough. “We were receiving a very large number of orders being incorrect due to the system that we used previously,” Teffany says. Orders shipped to bad addresses. Delivery issue tickets piled up. And all of it landed on one person’s desk.
Customers were feeling it too. Orders sat on hold while Teffany manually validated addresses and chased corrections. “Sometimes they were pretty upset because they needed to wait to confirm the shipping address,” she says.
- USPS validation letting incorrect addresses through
- One person responsible for reviewing every flagged order
- Customers upset about shipping delays during manual review
- Spoiled perishable shipments that could not be recovered
